On November 1, 2024, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) signed an agreement to establish a AIHub named Joint Research Center (JRC) at AI4LIFE Institute.
The AIHub was established to promote collaboration in applied AI research between the two universities. Through AIHub, UTS will annually fund four PhD scholarships for Vietnamese students, along with several top-up scholarships for faculty members who have received Scholarship 89 from the Vietnamese Ministry of Education.
Students participating in AIHub’s scholarship program will be co-supervised by researchers at both UTS and HUST.
After the signing ceremony, the senior leadership delegation from UTS visited and held a working session at HUST. During the session, the two sides discussed and outlined several plans for implementing dual-degree programs for bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs. The area of interest include Applied Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductor Technology.
