On May 14th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Hanoi Medical University Hospital signed a cooperation agreement to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership. With a shared vision, goals, and commitment to sustainable development, the two institutions have joined hands to collaborate on numerous initiatives related to health science and technology.
The two institutions will collaborate in training, scientific research, and equipment. Regarding training, they will cooperate to organize and implement advanced and specialized short-term courses in Food Safety, Food Engineering, and Biotechnology; coordinate practical training and internships for Biomedical Engineering students, among other activities. In scientific research, the partners will jointly develop AI application solutions in the medical field; research and develop specialized products; and collaborate to build and develop technological solutions for diagnostics, clinical support, and treatment. Additionally, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will provide consulting and supervision for the maintenance, warranty, and repair of equipment at Hanoi Medical University Hospital; offer technical advice for the upkeep and servicing of the hospital’s devices; and coordinate the provision of analytical services for nutrient composition in food, as well as supply methodologies and training for staff in analysis.
At the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang, Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, shared: “Today’s cooperation agreement is not only a strategic commitment between two leading institutions but also a symbol of an inevitable development trend: interdisciplinarity, connectivity, and continuous innovation. I firmly believe that with close partnership between the two sides, we will create many valuable scientific and technological products, making practical contributions to improving healthcare quality, aiming to serve the community sustainably and scientifically.”
The university director also expressed hope that in the near future, the two institutions will implement joint research projects on digital medicine, AI applications in medical imaging diagnosis and medical record analysis, development of new biomaterials, design of advanced medical devices, as well as promote interdisciplinary training between engineering and medicine — aiming to prepare the workforce for modern healthcare.
Associate Professor Nguyen Lan Hieu, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, remarked at the ceremony: “The ‘specialty’ of Hanoi University of Science and Technology lies in inventions and innovations that have social significance. Our doctors greatly need to learn from that. I hope this collaboration will inspire them and mark an important milestone in this critical phase for Hanoi Medical University Hospital in particular and Hanoi Medical University in general.”

Notably, AI4LIFE, the university’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Application, has been assigned the task of collaborating with Hanoi Medical University Hospital to tackle AI application challenges in hospital management, operational optimization, and improving the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment.
At the signing ceremony, the two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions about the cooperation details outlined in the agreement. Hanoi Medical University Hospital presented specific and practical challenges, while the scientists from Hanoi University of Science and Technology stood ready to receive these and provide timely, concrete solutions.
